Oovruh is an app for discovering visual fine art from public-domain museum collections. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices.

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (the password is handled and stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see it in plain text). You may also provide a display name.

Your preferences. During onboarding and use you may tell us your role(s) (e.g. artist, collector, admirer), preferred mediums, and preferred time periods. These are optional.

Your activity in the app. To power your personalized feed and recommendations we store the artworks you like, the artists you follow, the folders you create and what you save into them, and a derived "taste" profile (a mathematical summary of the kinds of art you engage with). We also record which artworks you have been shown and lightweight engagement signals (e.g. that you paused on an image or scrolled past it) so we don't keep showing you the same things and can improve recommendations.

Search queries. When you search, the words you type are sent to our search and image-understanding providers (see Service providers) to return results.

Diagnostic & technical data. To keep the app stable we collect crash reports and error diagnostics, which include technical details such as device type, operating system version, app version, and IP address, and are associated with your account identifier and email for troubleshooting.

What we do NOT collect. We do not collect payment or financial information (the app is free and has no in-app purchases). We do not request access to your camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, or precise location. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We share data only with vendors who process it on our behalf to run the app:

Each provider may process data in the United States or other countries. We encourage you to review their privacy practices.

Where required, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the app you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the app and prevent abuse), and consent where applicable. You can withdraw consent or object as described below.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Diagnostic data is retained for a limited period by our providers for troubleshooting. When you delete your account (see below) we delete your associated data.

Oovruh is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. (Note: artworks are drawn from public-domain museum collections and classical works may include nudity.)

We use industry-standard measures (including encryption in transit and provider-side access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the Effective date above; material changes may be highlighted in the app.
